1Annual

Strengthen your English communication skills and academic skills, and cultivate an eye for international society through common undergraduate subjects.

In the first year, students are divided into small classes based on their proficiency level, and they steadily improve their reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills in English.In addition, in the ``1st-year seminar,'' students learn academic skills necessary for university life, such as how to make presentations and write reports.At the same time, students will take a look at their major field of English comics and begin specialized study.Students will acquire the knowledge necessary to live in a globalizing society by taking classes such as common undergraduate subjects that focus on international liberal arts and international co-study.

2Annual

Further improve your English communication skills through study abroad incorporated into the curriculum.She acquires flexible thinking and a broad perspective.

In preparation for studying abroad in the second year, students will take courses such as "New England Studies" to deepen their understanding of Boston, which has an overseas campus, and "Japan in the World" to learn about Japanese culture and society in English.While studying abroad, students will develop their English communication skills through classes that emphasize research in English and discussions using authentic teaching materials.In addition, through interactions with students from local universities and residents of Showa Boston neighborhoods both in and out of class, students develop an attitude of seeing things from multiple perspectives.

Students will enhance their expertise in their major and complete their graduation thesis and graduation project as the culmination of their four years of study.

From the third year onward, students decide to major in either "Culture/Language" or "International Communication" depending on their interests, and learn deeply about themes and fields of interest through specialized subjects and seminars. In the "Culture/Language" major, you will learn about culture, society, and people's minds and ways of thinking in English-speaking countries.Through literary works, we study the cultural and social background of the English-speaking world, the structure of the English language, and its teaching and learning methods. In the "International Communication" major, students learn about the theory and practice of communication from the perspective of business and media.
