"A university with excellent teaching capabilities" |
We provide various learning opportunities for all students, focusing on global education, project-based learning, and career education. We aim to provide education that cultivates high levels of expertise, and we teach not only specialized fields, but also the skills required in society through more practical learning.
"A university that focuses on global education" |
We offer all students study abroad programs at our overseas campus "Showa Boston," which opened in 1988, 55 partner universities overseas, and the neighboring state campus of Temple University, Japan (TUJ) in the U.S. We also offer a "Double Degree Program" with TUJ and five partner universities in four countries that allows students to earn two degrees (bachelor's degrees), and have already produced over 90 graduates.
"A highly innovative university" |
The Department of Health Science was established in 2010, the Faculty of Global Business in 2013, the Faculty of International Studies and the Department of Food Safety Management in 2017, the Department of Accounting and Finance in 2018, and the Faculty of Environmental Science and Design in 2020. In order to better meet the needs of society and students, the Faculty of International Studies will be reorganized in 2025. There are plans to establish a new Faculty of Informatics (currently under construction) in 2026.
"A university that helps students grow after enrollment" |
We encourage students to actively learn and take on new challenges. In our "project-based learning" program, we have developed over 100 projects in collaboration with companies and local governments. In addition to department-specific projects that deepen the specialized knowledge learned in each department, students with different specialized knowledge share their knowledge and develop it into new learning in cross-departmental projects.
"A university that takes care of you" |
In the educational setting, the relationship between students and teachers is close, and careful guidance is given to each individual student in classes and seminar activities. In addition, class advisors are assigned, and a system is in place to support the growth of students in terms of student life and career paths.
"A university that focuses on finding employment" |
