walk for hanger
The Walk for Hunger is the largest fundraising walk in the Boston community, started in 1969 by the people of Massachusetts with the aim of providing relief to those suffering from food insecurity. This event is sponsored by the non-profit organization Project Bread, and Showa Boston students are involved every year as volunteers and walk participants.
Thank you to all the volunteers for your hard work!
Project Bread provides food and food allowances to people in need, distributes lunch boxes during school holidays for children who cannot afford to eat at home, and promotes policies related to food issues. Our aim is to create a society where no one goes hungry, by making recommendations to the government.
Showa student volunteers registered and checked in hundreds of participants as more than 3,000 people gathered to walk three miles around Boston Common.Groups of friends, school and work groups walked around wearing group T-shirts and event T-shirts.
"It was a great experience connecting with the Boston community. I feel like I was able to make a contribution to the food crisis in Boston."
“It was very difficult to register many people in a short time, but I was able to meet many people from Boston by using English!”
