Features of the Graduate Program in Japanese Language and Literature
In the field of Japanese literature, we have developed a curriculum that allows students to study literature from ancient times to modern times, allowing students to deepen their research and acquire a broader perspective.We also offer courses on Chinese literature, emphasizing approaches from the perspective of comparative literature.The purpose of Japanese linguistics is research that approaches the overall picture of the Japanese language, with a focus on modern languages.
Our university's library has a ``Modern Library'' that collects a wide variety of literature, including books and magazines from the Meiji era onwards, and one of our major features is that you can freely utilize this valuable and abundant material for your research.In addition, we aim to stimulate the inquisitive spirit of graduate students by holding research presentations and publishing a collection of essays, the ``Graduate School Bulletin of Japanese Literature,'' and providing opportunities for the presentation of research results.

The Department of Japanese Literature has a master's course.Our aim is to provide specialized knowledge and abilities to society at large, and to develop human resources who can play an active role in a variety of fields. The aim is to contribute to the further development of Japanese culture by cultivating deep academic knowledge and developing excellent research skills in the fields of "Japanese literature" and "Japanese language studies." ``Japanese Literature'' offers a variety of lectures and seminars covering various eras and fields.We also offer courses on Chinese literature, emphasizing approaches from the perspective of comparative literature. ``Japanese Studies'' focuses on research that approaches the overall picture of modern Japanese from the perspective of topology.
