Showa Boston offers a special program that helps students prepare for their further study at universities abroad, called the American College Readiness Program (ACR), for the participants of the fallLong-term Study Abroad Programs. There is a program called American College Readiness Track (ACR) that prepares students for studying abroad at an English-speaking university. The classes are based on American undergraduate classes and thoroughly improve students' discussion, presentation, academic writing, and other skills. There are certain language standards for participation. After completing this program, many students go on to study abroad at English-speaking universities.partner universities abroad to take regular undergraduate courses. You can get used to living abroad and gaining the necessary skills while studying at Showa Boston before joining the programs at partner universities.
*What is "class-based study abroad"? There are two types of "study abroad": "language study abroad" and "class-based study abroad." Language study abroad is where you study English intensively at a language school attached to a university, and your classmates are international students from non-English-speaking countries. Language study abroad does not usually require a certain level of English proficiency, making it relatively easy to study abroad, and many Japanese university students choose to study abroad for language study. On the other hand, class-based study abroad refers to study abroad where you meet a high level of English proficiency (usually CEFR B2 or above) and are officially allowed to take undergraduate classes at an English-speaking university. Showa Women's University sends many students out on class-based study abroad every year.
