Is it possible to obtain an elementary school teacher's license, kindergarten teacher's license, and nursery teacher qualification in four years?
Basically you can't. Once you enroll in this department, you will choose either the "Early Childhood Education Course" or the "Children Education Course." Students in the early childhood education course will need a nursery teacher qualification and a kindergarten teacher license. Students in the child education course can obtain a first-class elementary school teacher's license and a first-class kindergarten teacher's license. If you are a student in the child education course and have obtained a first-class elementary school teacher license and a first-class kindergarten teacher license, it is possible to take the national childcare worker qualification exam individually. By doing so, there is a way to obtain three licenses and qualifications within four years.
Can I change the course midway through?
It is possible to change from the "Early Childhood Education Course" to the "Child Education Course" until the second half of the first year. Changing from the Child Education course to the Early Childhood Education course is not permitted due to course availability.
Please let me know what kind of training you will do and when.
Practical training differs depending on the course. Students in the Early Childhood Education Course have their first childcare training in a nursery school from February to March of their second year, for two weeks. After that, students do two weeks of facility training in September of their third year, four weeks of teaching training at a kindergarten in May of their fourth year, and two weeks of childcare training at a nursery school or children's center in September of their fourth year. Students in the Childhood Education Course do a four-week teaching training at an elementary school in May of their fourth year, as well as school experience activities at an elementary school or kindergarten during the first and second semesters of their second year, and several days of experience training in nursing care at social welfare facilities, etc.
At what grade level should I participate in the "American Elementary Education Seminar"?Is there a limit on the number of people? Also, how much English proficiency do I need?
Under the Boston Education Training Program, students who have taken the ``American Elementary Education Seminar I'' at the Setagaya Campus will be able to take the ``American Elementary Education Seminar II'' held in Showa Boston.
The course can be taken for four years, but most students take it in their first or second year. ``American Elementary Education Seminar II'' is held in two sessions, in February and March. 4 people will be selected by lottery each time. I would like them to improve their English ability, but it is not a requirement.
Can I graduate in 4 years even if I study abroad for a long time (Spring/Fall Boston Semester Program)?
If you participate in the Boston Semester Program (spring or fall), it is possible to graduate from both courses in four years, but we do not guarantee that you will obtain licenses and qualifications in four years. In the past, some graduates have participated in the Fall Boston Semester Program and obtained their licenses and qualifications in four years.
