After enrollment, students are divided into the ``Child Education Course,'' which allows them to obtain a first-class elementary school or kindergarten teacher's license, and the ``Early Childhood Education Course,'' which allows them to obtain a first-class kindergarten teacher's license and nursery teacher qualifications.Through lectures and practical training, you will gain a detailed understanding of child growth, development, education and childcare, and learn how to respond in the field. In order to enhance these specialties, it is essential to have basic knowledge, skills, and education in related fields. We also offer a wide range of common subjects across departments such as education, childcare, psychology, and sociology.
In addition to practical training, this department also offers a variety of on-site visits, field trips, and volunteer activities.Practical learning is also available at the affiliated elementary school and kindergarten on campus. There are also short- and long-term study abroad opportunities in Boston.

In the "Teacher Training Guidance Room/Childcare and Early Childhood Education Guidance Room"
Career support from experienced faculty and staff
The "Teacher Guidance Room / Childcare and Early Childhood Education Guidance Room" was renovated in 2023. In the Guidance Room, which is a support place for realizing the dream of becoming a teacher, teachers with rich field experience such as former kindergarten and school principals will help students belonging to the Department of Elementary Education to realize their dreams while listening to their anxieties and worries about job hunting. In addition to preparation courses for teacher recruitment exams and public childcare worker recruitment exams, we also provide individual interview guidance and essay guidance. In addition, the Guidance Room is equipped with a wide range of teaching materials and materials related to recruitment exam preparation, and is used as a place to study and gather information. As a result of many students using it so far, they have achieved a high pass rate in the teacher recruitment exam and public childcare worker recruitment exam. In particular, the employment rate for elementary school teachers is 100%.

Practical learning at summer school for elementary school students
The Tateyama Program is a practical class in which students aspiring to become elementary school teachers run a summer school for elementary school students in Tateyama City. Students prepare for several months, plan the activities from scratch, and even design and run the lessons themselves. In 2024, activities included the Color Dome (arts and crafts), soap bubble making (daily life), instrument making (music), and ice lamp (science). Through these practical experiences, students will acquire the planning and leadership skills necessary for the field of education.
