In the fourth year, students choose a research lab that interests them from a variety of fields and compile it as their graduation research.
Topics Feel the current state of the department
Pursuing deliciousness by analyzing data.
"Science and Evaluation of Taste" is a class that analyzes the deliciousness of foods chemically and physically. Changes caused by food preparation operations and storage time are quantified through instrumental measurements and sensory evaluations. By utilizing this data, it becomes possible to pursue the deliciousness of food. In addition to the knowledge and skills essential to food development, you will also acquire communication skills through group work.
Learn the effects of makeup comprehensively.
In ``Cosmetic Science B,'' students will scientifically learn about the characteristics of chemicals used in cosmetics such as lipstick and mascara. In the process of applying makeup to their faces, students will understand that colors, textures, shapes, and three-dimensional effects create optical illusions and change the impression of their appearance. You will also learn about the psychological effects that create subjective or objective attraction and change interpersonal communication.
Acquire the ability to think about body makeup.
In "Power Exercise," you will learn the basic theory of anerobic (anaerobic) exercise and aerobic (aerobic) exercise. Exercises set to music involve using steps and trampolines. Furthermore, by learning about strength training, you will eventually learn and practice body shaping methods that suit your individual physical strength. This subject is also required for qualification to become a health and exercise instructor.
She will study abroad for 15 weeks while also obtaining qualifications as a nutritionist.
A unique feature of our department is that even if you use the "15 Week Boston Program," you can obtain your nutritionist qualification in 4 years. In Boston, you can choose classes according to your interests while receiving generous support from local staff. There are also plenty of opportunities to interact with local people outside of school, so you can expand your horizons while experiencing American culture, which is different from Japan.
