What made you decide to study the Department of Food Safety Management?
I was attracted by the fact that the school offers a comprehensive approach to food from both the science and business perspectives, and that it offers a curriculum that intersects the arts and sciences. In addition, the school's extensive data science courses and learning environment, which places emphasis on global education and leadership education, were also deciding factors for me.
What did you learn?
Another feature of the department is the wide range of classes, including experiments and practical training. Students work together in groups of three to four, which helps them develop teamwork and cooperation. During group work, students were able to proactively serve as leaders and acquire the ability to proactively participate and cooperate. In addition to food safety, there are also courses in which students can learn about business, such as management, so they are able to acquire knowledge that will be useful when they enter society.
What do you want to work on next?
I wanted to further deepen my expertise, and there was a time when I was wondering whether to go to graduate school or get a job. My teacher advised me that I could return to graduate school after gaining work experience, so I decided to get a job. After graduation, I will work in sales, but if my motivation to learn increases, I would like to consider going to graduate school.
Which class left an impression on you?
The "Business Presentation Exercise" class was small and I was able to receive in-depth feedback. It helped me grow as a person and I was able to use my presentation skills in my job search.
