Final exam

As a general rule, the exam will be held one week before or during the final week of the first and second semester classes.Students must take the exam for all courses they are enrolled in that semester.

Additional test

A make-up exam will be held upon request for those who did not take the final exam.Please obtain permission from the instructor in charge of the class to request a make-up exam before applying for a make-up exam.Please check the UP SHOWA announcement for details on the procedure.

Supplementary examination fee: 1 yen per subject (The score will be evaluated on a 5,000-point scale based on the test score multiplied by 0.7 and the normal score added.)
No reason required (no documents required to prove the reason)

If you apply and are approved, the supplementary exam fee will be waived (your score will be evaluated on a 1.0-point scale based on the test score multiplied by 5 and your normal score added).
  • Bereavement (certificate of date and relationship is required, such as a funeral certificate)
  • Train delay (delay certificate of 21 minutes or more required)
  • Off-campus training (teaching practice, etc.)
  • Job hunting (certification from the company is required. However, joint seminars are not eligible)
  • Qualification exams, entrance exams, etc. (examination ticket with date and time clearly stated)
  • In other unavoidable circumstances (including contracting an infectious disease that will result in suspension of attendance: an approved official request for absence is required along with documents proving the reason)
  • Due to time overlap with other subject exams.

Retest

As a general rule, students are required to retake required subjects that are rated "unsatisfactory" in the following semester.However, for curriculum purposes, subjects deemed necessary by the department will be re-examined.Eligible courses will be presented to students by the department at the beginning of the semester.If you pass the re-examination, you will receive the minimum rating (fair) for credit recognition.

special exam

The special examination for graduating students will be conducted according to the following regulations.
 
  1. Those eligible for the special examination shall be those who do not meet the graduation requirements and have been approved by the University Dean's Council, and those who do not have enough credits to qualify.
  2. Special examinations are limited to two subjects.
  3. Subjects subject to special examinations are disallowed subjects taken in the semester of graduation (excluding excessive absences and disqualified subjects (failed)).
  4. The fee for the special exam is 1 yen per subject.
  5. If the special exam result is passed, the evaluation will be ``fair''.
  6. Those who do not meet the requirements for graduation and pass the special examination will be certified for graduation with the approval of the Dean of Academic Affairs, Dean of Faculty, Vice President, and President.
  7. Those who pass the special examination for graduation in September will receive their degrees on the last day of September.The graduation date will also be the same day.
 *Even if you are missing one subject, you will be allowed to take the exam for up to two subjects, but only those that meet the graduation requirements and qualification requirements will be passed, and if you pass both, only one will be passed (the passing subjects will be designated by your department).
​ *Those who are ``unqualified'' due to being disqualified from taking the exam will not be eligible.

Graduation thesis

At our university, the acquisition of credits such as graduation thesis and graduation research is included in the graduation requirements.
Regarding the title of your graduation thesis, etc., please follow the instructions of your department.After receiving approval from your academic advisor, please submit the Graduation Thesis Submission Notification to your class advisor by the deadline set by each department.Please note that changes to the title once decided are not permitted in principle, so please consider this carefully when making your selection.
Course registration is done in the first semester of the year of submission, and the procedure for deletion (if it is not a required course) is the same as for other courses.
When writing your thesis, please make every effort to receive as much guidance as possible from your academic advisor, and submit a ``Graduation Thesis Guidance Card'' each time for confirmation.

    The date and time specified by the department, up to 4:XNUMX pm on the last day of classes.
    The submission date and time for essays for students who are expected to graduate in the first semester (end of September) is the date and time specified by the department before 9:4 p.m. on the last day of classes in the first semester.
