Full-time International Student (degree acquisition)

All undergraduate and graduate (master's and doctoral) programs at Showa Women's University are conducted in Japanese. (We do not offer any degree programs that can be completed in English).
We actively accept international students through a variety of entrance exam formats, including domestic entrance exams for international students who are already in Japan and studying at Japanese language schools, overseas entrance exams using the Japan University Examination (JPUE), "Showa Direct 4.5", which allows students to enter our university directly through recommendations from overseas high schools and Japanese language schools, transfer entrance exams from overseas partner universities, and designated school entrance exams from Japanese language schools.

Overseas Entrance Examination (Undergraduate)

Since 2016, we have been accepting international students directly from overseas, mainly those studying in Shanghai and Hong Kong, using the Japan University Examination (JPUE) system.

Showa Direct 4.5 (undergraduate)

This program, which started in 2024, allows students from overseas high schools and Japanese language schools to enter our university directly through a recommendation entrance exam.
Students who are recommended by a local high school or Japanese language school affiliated with our university take the entrance exam and pass the exam. After six months of intensive Japanese language education, students will take regular undergraduate courses. They will participate in an internship program during their time at the university and aim to find employment in Japan after graduation.

Transfer Admission from Partner Universities

As of 2023, we are conducting transfer admission examinations based on agreements with Hanyang Women's University and Sookmyung Women's University in South Korea. For details, please consult with the admissions office of each university.
