[What made you want to study English Communication?] ]
Before entering university, I wanted to work in the aviation industry, and I thought English proficiency was essential, so I chose the English Communication Department. It was also attractive that I could study abroad while staying in Japan at Temple University Japan Campus (TUJ), which is located on the same premises.I was also attracted by the high employment rate and the generous follow-up during job hunting.
[What did you learn? ]
After studying at Showa Boston and TUJ, my TOEIC® score increased by about 200 points to over 900 points. The year I participated in Showa Boston Study Abroad was an online study abroad program. Through TUJ's accredited study abroad program, I was able to make many foreign friends while staying in Japan and acquire a global perspective. In the hospitality English class I took after returning to Showa Women's University, the teacher was very enthusiastic, so I also seriously worked on class assignments on how to use English in the real world.
[What do you want to work on from now on? ]
I have a job offer at an aviation IT company. It's an industry that I've admired since I was little, and I want to become a bridge between Japan and the rest of the world. I am currently taking "Introduction to Data Science" and learning the basics of data processing in order to acquire knowledge for working at an IT company.
[Which class left an impression on you?] ]
I was interested in the class "Leadership and Entrepreneurship" where I heard stories from female entrepreneurs and leaders working in various industries. There are many people who are enriching their lives while working, and they gave us advice on our worries, so it was an opportunity to think about our career plans.
