The Faculty of International Studies, which has been responsible for global education at the cutting-edge Showa Women's University, will evolve from two departments to three departments in response to the needs of society and students, thereby expanding the scope of learning.
In the newly established Department of Global Japanese Studies, students will learn about the current state of Japan as it becomes increasingly internationalized, including utilizing inbound tourism, cultivating tourism talent, promoting Japanese culture, and revitalizing local communities, and will acquire the ability to connect Japan with the world.

The Faculty of Informatics will provide a curriculum that will teach data science for analyzing data, digital technology for turning the results of analysis into services, and the digital talent society is looking for today. With the establishment of this new faculty, Showa Women's University will become a comprehensive university for learning and human resource development across 7 faculties and 17 departments.

The actual employment rate for the 2024 graduates (1,454 students, including those graduating in September 2024) is 96.0%, maintaining a consistently high level. This actual employment rate ranks second among all women's universities nationwide with more than 1,000 graduates. Among national, public, and private universities, this is one of the top employment results, ranking 9th, while the top positions are occupied by industrial and national public universities.

This is a unique system established by our university in 2011, and about three-quarters of the participants are from other universities. Approximately 20 women with diverse careers from a wide range of ages, from their 70s to 360s, are registered. Working women with three or more years of work experience, not limited to our university graduates, support students' career design and life plans after graduation through individual or group mentoring with students.

The "Double Degree Program" is a program in which students study at Showa Women's University for 2.5 to 3 years and at a partner university overseas for 2 years, for a total of five years, to obtain a bachelor's degree from both Showa Women's University and the partner university overseas. The number of students who have completed the program has now exceeded 5.

We promote "project-based learning" as an opportunity for students to independently solve problems through involvement with society, groups, and organizations. There are more than 100 student-led projects, and many students are leading dynamic student lives by accumulating experiences that can only be had at our university through "project-based learning."

The professional graduate school was established with the aim of nurturing professional human resources with business insight and management skills aimed at the social implementation of problem research. It is possible to complete the course (obtain a degree) in as little as one year. It is also a "designated graduate school" for the Master Consumer Life Advisor.
