Our school motto is for the children to be healthy, to be kind to others, to be thoughtful, to be physically and mentally strong and to always try their best.

Through their experiences of daily life, such as playing with others and taking part in various events, our children cultivate their ability to think for themselves and to be creative. We consider this to be important for the development of an enriched self-growth. By refining their body, mind, and knowledge in their daily lives spent at our preschool, a "whole person" approach of education, which is the fundamental for their future, is pursued.

Following Showa Preschool, the children enter Showa Elementary School. This is part of the integrated education we provide from preschool to the college level. The teachers of Showa Elementary School also have chances to work at Showa Preschool.

In addition, there are also many chances for the children to interact with other Showa students from the junior-senior high school as well as the college who study on the same campus. |

Our school motto is for the students to proceed with an aim, to devote themselves sincerely, and to keep physically in good shape.

Our educational policies are to cultivate students' initiatives, leadership and responsibility from their experiences in various situations at school.

Classes are taught by homeroom teachers except for the specialized subjects such as music, art and craft, science including both biology and chemistry, physical education, home economics, and English. We begin English education from the first grade.

Regarding IT education, students in fourth grade and above can freely take courses at various levels at our college extension program called open college.

In order to develop the students' independence and creativity, Showa Elementary School promotes its unique education called "Total Learning Program." Each homeroom class conducts research on a particular topic, reflecting on what they have learned in the academic year. As an accomplishment, the students make presentations at the Founder's Memorial Hall. |

Under the entire school objective, to gBe a light to the world,h the following three school mottos were established, gManifest Refinement,h gBe Sincere,h and gSeek Knowledge.h We have been striving to foster young women to be human beings capable of conducting their lives with gLove,h gUnderstanding,h and gHarmony.h

In 1977 our school was appointed by the Ministry of Education as a model school for unified lower and upper secondary school education. Since then we have been further developing promoting this system. This system enables us to supervise each student individually for six years and to watch over their academic, emotional, and physical growth.

Students who are able to complete the secondary schoolfs course of study by their fifth year are able to enter our higher school system at either junior college or undergraduate university level. This system is very unique to our school and it has been in operation for more than 20 years.

| Our curriculum is designed to empower students to be able to achieve their own goals in life, and to encourage the students to have the willingness to be life-long learners. Regular extra-curricula activities such as school events, overnight camps, club activities, friendship circles (which span all grades), and special lectures play an important role in the social growth of the students. These activities help nourish and enrich their personalities, enabling them to become good citizens with sound bodies and minds. |
